Its pleasing to note that finally one of still living Malawian featured in the documentary.

Johannes Chabes, a driver with the South African Air Force.

Reverend Father John Mandambwe, a Staff Sergeant with the King’s African Rifles.

Thomas Mautsoa, a truck driver in the South African Army.

Dr. Henry Kakembo, son of Robert Kakembo, who served in the 7th (Uganda) Battalion of the King’s African Rifles.

Lawrie Poorter, a pilot with the South African Air Force.

Ahmed Suleiman, an able seaman with the British Armed Forces.

Woolfie Tobiansky, a mechanic with the South African Air Force.

Dr. Kenneth Grundy is Emeritus Professor of Political Science at Case Western Reserve University, and author of “Soldiers Without Politics: Blacks in the South African Armed Forces.”
